Still no grilling in this miserable heat wave in my corner of AZ so I drug out the trusty pressure cooker for a batch of Senate Bean soup with green chili cornbread. It helps that its the hubby's favorite meal on earth.

Totally hooked on this brand of quick ramen. Unfortunately this is the only 6 pepper version. Sure hope they'll add a 6 pepper shrimp and pork.

Since Mother Nature opened the Gates of Hell, even in our NW corner of AZ, we won't be out grilling anytime soon. So this morning I whipped us up one of my grandma's buttermilk pies & tonight made the hubby his favorite - spaghetti w/meat sauce.

Brutal heat in our corner of AZ means cool, refreshing dinner indoors. Chilled jumbo shrimp, extra hot horsey sauce for dippin & the hubby made us a tomato, cucumber & onion salad. Yummy!

No matter it’s running 106°F on the patio, my Masterbuilt was rolling smoke for 6hrs with some tasty baby backs inside. Also made a simple dill pickle 'tater salad. Had a good friend down to enjoy a toddy & early dinner with us for the holiday. 🍻 😁

Our Verdin couple has made great progress on their nest in one of our cactus. We had a couple try to nest there 2yrs ago but something (likely a roadrunner) destroyed the nest, eggs & all. Fingers crossed for these sweet little birds.
