In 2004, Dexter Fowler chose baseball over college but promised his parents he would get his degree.
His father even added a clause in his contract for his tuition to be paid.

In 1998, Florida Gators star Fred Taylor was drafted by the Jaguars and was a few credits short of graduating. But he promised his grandmother he would graduate.
She passed away in October but on Saturday, 26 years later, Taylor fulfilled his promise to her.
