My dual countries Australia and United Kingdom both abstained in the UN vote calling for:

- immediate humanitarian truce leading to a cessation of hostilities

- unhindered humanitarian access

- immediate and unconditional release of all civilians illegally held captive.

Solidarity with Jenni Hermoso and her teammates. ✊🏾

It goes without saying that women and girls should never be exposed to a sexist, misogynist, hostile workplace.

Male players all over the world also have a *duty* to stand in solidarity with the Spanish women players.

"Mr. Rubiales himself has admitted it was an error and has apologized."

This is embarrassing.

Barça didn’t even mention Jenni Hermoso by name - who is a club legend.

Spanish football is morally rotten to the core.

Mès que un club?

“pick the right battles”

“convince us”

In other words, if women can convince [Men in power] - that women are worthy of respect, dignity and equality - we [FIFA] may open our doors and grant women human rights at our grace and discretion.

Unbelievable!

History.

Morocco defender Nouhaila Benzina is the first player to wear a hijab while competing at a senior-level Women's World Cup.

Up until 2014, FIFA had prohibited the wearing of hijabs as part of football apparel in matches.

Progress. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Rest in Power - Shuhada Sadaqat, also known as the artist Sinéad O’Connor.

You spoke truth to power, when it was easier to succumb to futility, expediency or career comfort & financial success.

You were always on the right side of history - knowing the personal cost.

RIP 👑❤️

This always comes to mind whenever minorities are criticised for refusing to engage in debates with bigots. Why would one be complicit in their own oppression?
