Today in the Garden. Aechmea recurvata cv 'Benrathii', a lovely little bromeliad that looks almost like chenile. Blooms a couple of times a year and keeps putting out pups with little to no maintenance. Always looking for more species. Any recommendations? #Gardening #Zone10

Today in the Garden. Mantis. Gorgeous lady at least 5" long but looks like maybe a victim of a hungry bird that missed its lunch. Hoping it was actually an egg sac. Hard to tell. Any ideas? Moved her near some juicy aphids. Hope that helped. :-( #Gardening #Nature #Zone10

Today in the Garden. Naked Ladies. Amaryllis belladona. South African native, leaves grow in winter and die back so that when the blooms arrive in late summer they are "naked". Foreground is Euphorbia 'Diamon Frost', background Salvia mexica 'Limelight'.

Today in the Garden. Random Gladiolus sprouted this spring in the Fuchsia pot. Quite lovely but very out of place and straining for the sun on the shady north side. Going to be some kind of fun disentering it this fall and finding it a new home.
