The last Republican caucus for president in 2016 in Iowa saw nearly 200k people turn out compared to around 100k for this one. Our dangerously cold weather created a situation that wasn't reflective of the process as a whole, unless of course the GOP has low turn out this election cycle ¯_(ツ)_/¯

He is notoriously attached to his phone and social media. Any time you think it's an intern or something, just remember it's always his unhinged ass typing away

That poll only polled respondents age 18-29. While it's good to see that the youth vote will go to Biden, it's nowhere near the whole picture of the electorate.

They give us a dollar amount that we are free to spend on the uniform items of our choice, including shoes, so it's technically there. The amount just simply doesn't account for the many pairs we go through.

I saw something about the regulators over there had sent him a compliance notice this past week. I hope it's real.

If I wanted Facebook, I'd post on Facebook. Some platforms gravitating toward massive posts defeats the whole "short and sweet" aspect behind their creation.

Douglas Schoen is a self-identified Democrat that has argued against the party's entire platform at almost every turn, so this bad take is just more of the same. He works for Newsmax as an analyst and that's really all you need to know about the man.

Google did what Meta is doing now with Threads: everyone who was a registered user of their other platforms could join with a click.

It didn't help them, but it was certainly a great way to jumpstart registrations.

He's a conservative, so probably Trump more than anything. My in-laws are Reagan Republicans and they are desperate for that particular style of candidate.

Here in red NW Iowa they are grasping for any candidate at this point. Inmate P01135809 has very few takers at that point, though his support isn't completely gone. I'm definitely seeing waaaaay less flags and yard signs. I don't think it's going to effect the rest of the ticket unfortunately

For a while I was flabbergasted that Larry Hogan hadn't entered the race. He made some comments recently though that make me think that he's waiting for 2028 because he knows Biden is going to sail into a 2nd term. At that point a moderate Republican may actually stand a chance with their base.

Same name, different product. Nothing special about this iteration. Honestly the only reason it has so many signups so fast is because you are able to sign up using Instagram which a lot of people already have. In fact, most of your Threads profile can only be edited through Instagram.

This is a question that requires a long answer, so here is a link to a Reuters article detailing the processes. It gets messy.

My recent favorite highlight was watching one of them do the mental gymnastics of trying to clarify what they mean when they said, "Be careful parking there because 'they' will steal it" before taking a trip to Chicago.

Those nefarious "They"s are at it again!
