There is always something deeply satisfying about working on Hunter Black.

Ate shit last night. We keep a box in front of the kitchen cabinets as cat-proofing and I tripped right over it. If I retain one thing from high school athletics, it's an ability to fall without injuring myself -- didn't even spill the drink I was carrying.
But man, I am sore today.

Today's a day of weird anniversaries...and it's too much to go into in a single post. If you're up for resisting the TL;DR impulse, head on over to my site.

For about fifteen seconds, I seriously thought about trying to write. Right now. After a bitch of a night behind the bar.
Nope.
Nope.

Oh man, I just solved some story problems I've been struggling with and broke open MONTHS worth of Hunter Black. The bad news is, I'm at the night job right now, because all I want to do is write.
(You know it's a good day when I want to WRITE, rather than to HAVE WRITTEN.)

This was a full, productive, and satisfying day. I hope I can keep having days like today.

Am I the only person that this happens to? I have to TRY to get my CAPS LOCK key to stick -- but if I accidentally mistype when trying to hit the A, it stays on with no problem.

I love that moment when you're writing and a character reveals something new of themselves to you. I mean, it comes out of your own brain, but it feels like the character's starting to speak for themselves.

I just reached out to my congressman and my senators to ask them to oppose KOSA. Look this bill up. State's attorneys that consider CRT or transgender healthcare "harmful" will be able to sue to keep information relating to these subjects off of social media. This can't be allowed to happen.

For some reason, I think you guys want to hear me bitch about the parts I find difficult in this writing career...

We've started reposting Hunter Black on Tapas and we just hit a nice little milestone (especially since we do ZERO marketing). If you want to get in on Hunter Black from the beginning, this is a good place to start!

The State of Genre Fiction
There's no secret to what I'm trying to do in my writing career. I write genre. I write superheroes, fantasy, horror, and science fiction. Right now, I'm aiming for television, but I'd love to write features as well. Ultimately, my goal is to create original content. My animation development team, M..

3 Threaded Spouts
"The spectacle of what is called religion, or at any rate organised religion, in India and elsewhere, has filled me with horror and I have frequently condemned it and wished to make a clean sweep of it.

Simple question for people who haven't seen it yet -- If Quantumania (or Secret Invasion) had been better, would you be more excited for The Marvels?

THE MARVELS isn't "great cinema." It is, however, UTTERLY DELIGHTFUL. It was fun, it was heartfelt, and it was heroic. #LovedIt

Ah, the incomparable joy of a cat with the midnight zoomies. (I'm just glad it ain't both of them.)

Man, when they said these muscle relaxers would make me drowsy, they weren't messing around. Good night.

Finally saw Across The Spider-Verse -- absolutely BREATHTAKING. I haven't been this impressed by a film in a long time.

Just watched DEVIL from 2010. Surprisingly decent film. A wee bit scary. Solid, simple, and a sweet, sweet 80 minutes.
Worth a watch.

We finished FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER tonight. While hardly perfect, it was a thoroughly enjoyable piece of modern Gothic horror. I particularly enjoyed the embrace of Poe's poetry. I'm just sad that no one ever said the word, "tintinnabulation."

For the first time I can remember, I'm actually listening to Slayer. On purpose.

So, way back when, I used to write my film and television scripts in MS Word...and when I needed to move them to Final Draft, I'd just copy and paste for HOURS. Tonight, faced with doing that again, I Googled how to import a file from Word to Final Draft.
Ugh. So easy. So annoying.
