My Kauri Pine (an ancient Qld tree) has needed repotting for 12mths. I've trimmed it's roots & like most of my Bonsais there's no textbook so trial & error has taught me not to cut the biggest root. New soil, a small snip of leaves, some moss & back into it's pot. #AustralianNativeBonsai

Having recently been to Kyoto Japan where people tend acres of public moss gardens, I was inspired to weed the moss in my Bonsais. The trick is to not hurt the good moss. My Mount Spurgeon Black Kauri pine loved it. #AustralianNativeBonsai

A few years ago I was thrilled to have our White Waratah have it's first ever flower. This year it may have 14.

#dulciethepossum is so cute. She feels so secure in our yard, she comes out under the canopy of the Feijoa trees any time of day.

We're lucky enough to have a brushtail possum living in our feijoa trees. We love feeding her the occasional treats. Here Dulcie is chewing on a turnip leaf. #DulcieThePossum

We have Scaley Breaster & Rainbow Lorrikets pick over our Grevilleas all the time. It's nice just sitting & watching them.

On this day 13.11.42 all 5 Sullivan Brothers were lost in action. Their sad loss changed the course of military deployment in many armed forces around the world to lessen the potential grief of families.

With almost a month in Japan, we head back to Australia this Saturday. It's a fabulous country, so clean, everyone so friendly and plenty of quirky stuff around to seek out.

If you're a fan of the great Netflix show, Midnight Diner, you'd appreciate how much fun we had at this great little bar in Takayama last night, Food, Beer, Sake & lots of chatter & laughter. 2 Aussies, 2 Swiss, 3 locals & 2 Brits.

Amongst all things Australian, for anyone overseas seeing this, this is the rare white waratah in flower at our home. It's usually red. #AustralianNativePlants

It's taken about 7yrs to get this plant to this point. It's been worth it. Waratahs are usually red, but this white one is a real rarity to be so healthy.

Visited Ground Zero a few years back with my daughter. She was 8yo on 9-11 & standing beside the pools, she asked me about the day, I simply told her, that day changed the world. #911

It's Australian Flag Day (3 September) & as a celebration I've flown the first official flag of Australia. The flag has had two slight modifications since 1901 but it's still very recognisable
