I’m so looking forward to the second season of The Wheel of Time! These books were my favorites back in the 90s in high school and college and I really enjoyed the TV series interpretations! Season 1 was great but I think Season 2 will be even better.

I FINALLY got around to watching Oppenheimer and wow! It went way beyond my expectations. A couple of scenes I could have done without like the sex scene while quoting an incorrect translation of the Gita but the overall story blew me away!

Finished reading The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty today! Wish more books, especially fantasy books were written from an older woman's perspective like this! I love that she's middle-aged & a mom but that isn't all that defines her! Loved her adventure filled with fun & magic!

“Humanity is awful, angry, and violent. But we are also magical and musical. We dance. We sing. We create. We live and laugh and rage and cry and despair and hope. We are a bundle of contradictions without rhyme or reason. And there is no one like us in all the universe.”

This show has been my favorite in the last few years. It seemed to come at a perfect time when the world was telling me that being cynical and jaded was not only cool but like the "right" thing to be. Ted Lasso reminded me that there are other types of people in the world.

That's my Senator! I wish people would listen to what he has to say. Like his children, my nephew's school was also in lockdown as well as the places my brother and SIL were at in midtown Atlanta today! It's scary! It needs to change!

I'm an American of South Asian descent who finds all things British "royalty" related absurd and antiquated! All the brouhaha over the Coronation of their new King is ridiculous! He's asking everyone to swear their allegiance to him? The guy who wanted to be a tampon? Don't think so!

I love that one of my favorite authors from my childhood in the 80s is in 2023 still seen as one of the most influential people by Time. I've always been a fan and will always continue to be a fan of Judy Blume!

Books I read in March 2023.
Our Best Intentions by Vibhuti took me by surprise and was a favorite.
Both Iona Iver's Rules for Commuting and Vera Won's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers were great, fun stories about found families!
Wrong Place Wrong Time and Songbirds were also great!

Ok I gave #DaisyJonesAndTheSix a change. Watched 6 episodes. I loved the book and couldn't quite put my finger on why the show isn't working for me. Then it hit me! Outside of the changes they've made, it feels like a story about Boomers written for the Taylor Swift generation! It doesn't quite fit!

I loved this book so much that I was so excited for the show. But I should have known! Hello Sunshine takes these books I love, brings them to the screen, & changes up enough that it loses what made the book good! It doesn't sound all that different with #DaisyJonesAndTheSix

If this law passes, it sets up a legal challenge that will go to SCOTUS, giving SCOTUS the opportunity to reverse Obergefell & marriage equality. We already know where the conservative justices stand on this. If they can overturn Roe v Wade, they will overturn marriage equality as well.
