I'm an intermediate guitar player been playing open mics in Toronto for about 3 months. Before I can make any song sound like how I want it to sound I need to be playing around with it for more than 1 year. Learning patience! Arrrgh! #guitar #openmic

I'll need to do more careful spell checks on spoutible. Only one edit is allowed, which is normally fine, but resulted in my last spout misspelling the word "glitch" (it came out glitz.) Yeah, still lots of glitches when I play, learning to love them is hard. #guitar #bluesmusic

There's an irony to developing skills on the guitar: you work diligently to eliminate mistakes, glitzes, minimize fret buzzing and so forth, yet it is exactly those things that, when they occur, give whatever music you are making its own unique life. #guitar #music #bluesmusic

Spent the weekend at Toronto's Winterfolk Music Festival. Lots of great artists, seasoned and emerging, friendly crowds and people just sharing their stories felt like a great way to keep warm on a winter's day. As David Laronde, a songwriter from Northern Ontario said 'Folk music lives in Toronto."

The Sidekick is a great comic book/coffee shop selling beer. Every Saturday they host a musical open mic night that features some terrific local talent and a variety of music from old southern blues to original songs. #openmic #musicians #music
