Finally broke down and popped 8 lines of text into ChatGPT, just to see if it could improve on my writing. Oh my god. It gave me 16 lines that read like someone trying to sound smart. Convoluted sentence structure, passive voice, stating and restating the obvious... just wow.

Great challenge. I've been working to replace a couple of these, plus crazy/insane/etc. It's shocking to notice how pervasive ableism is in my language. Even metaphors -- like "analysis paralysis," "crippling debt," etc. Like all the "isms," it's gonna be a lifelong journey to root it all out.

As in basically every social movement pretty much ever, young people are leading. Rather than relying on them to save us, it's grown folks' job to follow their lead, in whatever ways fit our skills and resources. I love this Gen Xer's simple recognition + determination to live out that truth.

Negotiating contracts is so fraught w/ leftover anxiety from times when I didn't have enough $ for my bills. And misplaced guilt bc my clients are doing good in the world on minimal budgets. And struggle against my and their scarcity mentality. And gratitude that I'm even in a position to negotiate.
