Cellar Chronicles New Episode:
Two dry days then boom, even more flooding than last week. The overhead lights shimmer prettily in the ever deeper water. Maybe this osteoarthritis inflaming labor helps to build #character 🥸

After last night's rain our briefly dry cellar became our re-flooded cellar, with even deeper water now shimmering under two overhead lights

Although it might be hard to tell that this is a new photo, the cellar flood level here is lower. So is my #energy level though 🫤

On the right side of the picture the flooded cellar floor is still wet, but less deep than it was yesterday. On the left side of the photo the floor is dry except for wet boot prints.

Right now the sky is a uniform blanket of white above the tree tops. Soon comes the #fierce rain of up to 4 inches plus snowmelt and #fierce flooding. After the deluge, the #fierce winds climb to 50-55 mph until 1pm tomorrow.

Our holiday tradition is to bake shortbread for the extended family using Great Grandma Jeannie's recipe.
This year all of them got Covid (still positive). Not wanting the cookies to go stale, we are heroically enjoying them ☺️

Our #care for Budgie Bob includes maintaining his own humidifier (blue tank) in the dry winter months

Budgie Bob's flight cage provides exercise and lots of perches and soft toys. In the dry winter months Bob's care includes his very own humidifier, as seen with a blue tank just beyond the lower perches.

Nan's old bedside table is now our entryway table 😊

We use my Nan's old small black bedside table in our entryway, under a narrow hall window. On the tabletop a holiday basket for mail sits on a woven cloth. The shelf below has a matching woven cloth and two green metal leaves that fell off the porch wind chimes this fall. Large crock below table holds a sand bucket, for icy porch steps. Small crock holds guest slippers. In front of the small crock a milk bottle full of marbles waits to be used as a doorstop

We love our very messy intentional stick pile from fallen branches and yard trimmings. The yardbirds perch on the upright sticks and sing. We've seen the yard bunny go in and out of lower openings. Unsure what other critters might visit
