Cheryl loved the water. One of the last thing we did together before her third cancer diagnosis was go kayaking (yes, she owned two).
Her last gift helped make this trip possible. The kids have had a marvelous time.

My beautiful Eldest finished his two week free STEM camp strong.
He was initially an alternate. I found out 4 alternates got in. 350 kids applied and only 60 got in.
I am so in awe of him. He’s an artist. He’s an athlete. He loves math. He crushes engineering.
So bloody proud!

Saying goodbye is hard. Today, I saw my dear friend Cheryl, likely for the last time.
We have known each other since we were 11. She has beaten terminal cancer with 1% odds twice in the last almost 5 years, but her fighting is done.

Braces... again. Yes, they're on in both photos! My orthodontist in my teenage years assured my mother I didn't need jaw surgery and that he could "fix" my teeth without it.
