I wish more libraries had photobooks. My local library was able to get me Niagara by Alex Soth and what I found most evocative about his work is that he was able to construct a very clear narrative and plot with his images and with the location of Niagara as backdrop.

Took a shot that my 2 week old developer would still work... And it did! Glad I could get three more rolls out of the chemicals before they died.

"Our country treats immigrants like commodities. Even the most well-meaning policymakers argue that immigrants deserve to be here, not because they deserve a shot at survival, but because they’re good for the economy."

Love this! Everyone is deserving of dignity.

Current commute audiobook is Jonathan Lethem Fortress of Solitude. And man the main protagonist sucks. Not normally an issue for me but this is a reread and the second time around it's a little more painful

What will happen now that white people can no longer feel attacked by programs meant to correct systemic injustice? What new grievance will they make up?

Terrible decision from the Court in these Affirmative Action cases. The court consistently refuses to touch Legacy as a larger percentage of admission but decries race being elevated in anyway.

Love this interview. Our asylum process is needlessly complex and retraumatizing.

Can't wait to pick up this insightful book

Local library has a decent foreign film section. So I finally finished Akira.... and holy moly what a film. Fast paced. Aggressive. At times beautiful. Commentary on the hubris of humans trying to control unimaginable power? ✅

I certainly see through this as a wedge issue, and just hope that my fellow Latinos/Latinas/Latinxs feel the same way. Latinx originates from within the culture and from a marginalized group, and is not meant to overrule anyone's individual preferences
