When Trump rails against critics or courts, he usually does so with the casual tone of someone who isn't really all that concerned. Not anymore. His attack on the judge in the civil fraud case was clearly anger fueled by fear. For once, he can't so easily escape the consequence of his actions.

Local newspaper sent me an e-mail linking to a news story about the GOP debate. Something wasn’t quite right and there was an error message—only it was perfectly spot on and better than the article. After the headline was “This message has no content.” That sums up the GOP pretty damned well.

Actual headline of piece is "California, a liberal bastion, may give Donald Trump an unlikely boost in 2024." A boost for Trump in the primary isn't unlikely. CA GOP is teensy (24% of registered voters) but, sadly, just as cultish as the rest of the GOP.

Literally “don’t say gay.” The district was concerned how mentioning a gay person existed caused students to ask questions—and Republicans can’t have any of that— especially when involving reality they are busy trying to suppress: the existence of LGBTQ, systemic racism, climate change, etc.

I’ve seen a number of takes like this, and I empathize with it. But honestly, I think it overthinks things. The Muskrat bought Twitter because he wanted to be a hero, “protector” of free speech and all. He knew he could buy it and “fix” it, being a wealthy narcissist who thinks he craps sunshine.

😳. They say they are inspecting their rides daily but a picture taken in June showed the crack starting to form. So that speaks to the failure of the inspections as much as it is a failure of the support beam. Thank goodness someone spotted this and reported it. This could have been hugely tragic.
