Unfortunately, I don’t think our definition of catharsis is the same as Lindsay’s.

They gave Teddy Kennedy a USSS detail in ‘79. But… he was running as a sitting US Senator that was facing threats (don’t know about how credible), AND he was beating Carter in the polls by a 2-to-1 margin.

I totally agree. However, the “120 days” is what’s mandated. Most candidates have gotten USSS protection well before then, but after they’re their party’s presumptive nominee.

Great work! This’ll help fill in the gaps until they decide to start posting here regularly. Two more that I’d love to see: Angry_Staffer and emptywheel. I know Marcy Wheeler refuses to join Threads due to privacy issues, but may join here eventually. Her legal analysis would be very welcome he

I understand that issue with only one edit, but do you know why too much editing or without a time limit (as I've seen others suggest) would be a bad idea?

Wouldn’t it be 73 years, since you mention the Korean War starting in 1950? Also, why was the first Iraq conflict/war excluded from the list?

Try posting these spouts again, but use the “Add Threaded Spout” option instead of replying to each spout.

The same could be said of the recent push to get children into the workforce. When you’re down to 3.5% unemployment, there’s no legitimate reason for this push… unless it’s strictly to reduce labor’s power and keep wages low.

Maybe a placeholder can be put in its place when deleting a “middle of a thread” spout. Something like “this spout was deleted by the original spouter.” @cbouzy

It looks like I may have found another issue. If a spout in the middle of a thread gets deleted, the rest of the thread gets lost in the ether. In the screenshots, I had created a thread and then deleted the 2nd spout. It still counts as 1/4, with no way to access the other spouts.

It looks like there’s an issue when individual spouts within a thread are echoed. The echoed spout marks the spout as the first in the thread.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it appears that you didn’t click on the “Add Threaded Spout” button after the first spout.

High unemployment hurts their game. Now that unemployment is low, they’re trying to get children into the workforce to compete with low wages, and diminish the demand overall, lowering wages across the board.
