I have literally paid off 1 and 1/2 cars and more on my mortgage in less time. This is just ridiculous! #studentloans #studentloanforgivenessnow

The analysts then suggest it will simply fall to party line votes rather than, while they play up questionable legal footing for Biden's admin., despite evidence to the contrary, and portrays borrowers as unwilling to read the SCOTUS decision and who fell for promises rather than reasonable relief.

All this while Kagan demonstrates that the language of the legislation is very broad and explicitly gives the Sec. of Ed. this authority. Further, she questions whether there is even standing for this 'cause--get this!--the "injured party" (MOHELA) isn't even in court or suing!

And the PPP Loan Program, while important, was actually very flawed, most of it not going to intended recipients and benefitting those with high incomes.

Further, the amount they are concerned with (~ 300 billion over 10 years) suddenly sounds dubious to forgive even though the PPP loan program forgave $758 billion in ~two years.

Seriously, though, they invoke the Major Questions Doctrine as if Congress didn't literally and explicitly vote to give the Sec. of Ed. to take action to modify or waive during a national emergency.

I am struck by the conservative SCOTUS justices willingness to take issue with the emergency debt relief, even when, for instance, Justice Kavanaugh seems to have no problem when his debts mysteriously get paid by other people.

Yes! I am projected to pay 2 - 3x the principal if this continues--and that includes paying during the freeze so that I can impact that principal even more. I've continually paid more than the minimum and barely made a dent, while during the same time have paid off cars and more on my mortgage.
