My experience has been doctors trying to overprescribe (i.e. just a tick bite, no rash, no test, not in area w high incidence). It's bizarre how subject we are to the whims of the personal opinion of whatever practitioner we end up with. But also how little our personal philosophies are allowed .

I should say "supporting the rapid development and bringing to market vaccines." Government played an important role in the development of the Moderna vaccine and it streamlined the approval process.

Trump's administration did a good job in rapidly developing a vaccine. Biden's in distributing it. Otherwise they have been disasters in leadership. A lot of people died or were disabled under both presidents who didn't have to be.

It's a smart tactic. It appears they are hiding data to prevent people from avoiding purchasing milk. So the answer may to avoid purchasing milk because the data we need to assess if it is safe are hidden.

Dogs also tilt their head to gain perspective. Their field of view doesn't overlap as much as ours but they can still get good depth perception by moving their heads and comparing the two images.

Cool! It was already known that some caecilian offspring tear off and eat their mother's skin (she produces a nutrient-rich and easily sloughed off layer) and that some hatch internally and feed off the lining of her oviduct.

But turkey vultures, black vultures, and condors are neither 'buzzard' nor really 'vulture'. They are something uniquely American. If only there was a uniquely American way to refer to them...

The uniquely American carrion birds were often called 'buzzard', and animal most English were familiar with, or 'vulture,' an animal few would have known because it was neither. Eventually experts settled on 'New World vulture' while lots of regular folks stuck with 'buzzard.'

English colonists in America tended to settle on familiar English words for both familiar and unfamiliar animals. 'Hawk' grew to refer to both Buteo buzzards and Accipiter hawks. Sometimes the same species is found in both countries but called buzzard in one and hawk in the other (eg. Buteo lagopus)

Instead the Americas have a whole different group of carrion-feeding birds that fill the ecological role of OW vultures. These birds are so distantly related that they get their own family, Cathartidae, and sometimes even their own order. They separated from these other birds >35 million yrs ago.

The OW versions of buzzards, hawks, and vultures are all related to each other in the family Accipitridae. N America has Buteo (what the English call buzzards), Accipiter (what English call hawks), but not Old World vultures.

In England 'buzzard' refers to birds in the genus Buteo. 'Hawk' refers to things like goshawks and sparrowhawks, genus Accipiter and relatives. Old World vultures don't make it up into England except as rare migrants, but get that name. (Vultures are either in subfamily Gypaetinae or Aegypiinae).

I kept wondering when this shoe would finally drop. It's probably a good sign that it took this long. Testes are the organs with the highest levels of ACE2 receptor expression (followed by ovaries) and autopsies of those infected with covid are chock full of virus.

So far I'm aware of several studies that show an effect on menstruation. Femaie fertility data will take longer to appear given that a lifetime of eggs develop in the womb.
(This is not a post to refute the fact that medicine tends to focus more on men, just noting the effects shown on women so far)

Trump indicted for 91 felonies.

Nixon, Harding, & maybe some others probably also committed some but aren't included.

Rest of the presidents = 0.

That averages to about 2 felonies per president.
