We're at $6606 with only 6 hours left? A sign? I have a few friends that might think so...

New perks coming to our Indiegogo campaign this weekend! Only 10 days to go and another $15,000 to raise at least--please share, and watch for those perks coming this weekend. (And if you're an author who knows me who might want to sign books for this last stretch, get in touch.)

If you've ever done a crowdfunding campaign and used any mailing service like BackerGuild or a service that got you into it, I'd love to hear from you. Trying to decide if a particular service is worth the money.

Many of you know I've been working on starting a bookstore. Here's one thing that will help us move to full brick-and-mortar. Would appreciate you all sharing this widely with your networks! And big thanks to my sister, Laura Warner, who created the art!

New acquisition alert! I'm SO excited to be working with Ebony! We've known each other in children's lit circles (starting with the child_lit listserv) since before I was even an editor, we both believe. This book has so much you're going to LOVE.

This newest Fresh Air remembering editor Robert Gottleib is an interesting look into the mind of a singular editor. I agree with a lot of his view of the work of an editor, and disagree with a lot, but all of it's a good window into an editor's mind.

Argh, just realized I'd been paying for an ad for the wrong link! It was picking up the link in the Facebook page (which I'd forgotten to update) rather than the link I entered. Thankfully I caught it before it went on too long.

thread 2 Threaded Spouts
Excellent article from jeffvandermeer in Esquire about "climate fiction" and how the term came about--much later than those who were writing about climate change started writing about it.

Trying again because my last post lost the link. This is a new bookstore opening up in Brooklyn on Church Ave. They have 3 days left of their Kickstarter campaign and still need to raise about $20,000. If you have a few extra bucks to kick their way, this will be great for the neighborhood.

Publishing/bookish friends: boost this bookstore! They have about 25% still to raise this weekend with 4 days to go.

There is no excuse for insurance companies to force you to fax information to them. They've had nearly 30 years to adapt to this newfangled thing called electronic communications.

Disappointed but not surprised that Netflix cancelled a #1 show (in this case, Lockwood & Co). I've cancelled Netflix. I'm so tired of them doing this.

As I've shared here before, I'm launching a bookstore in NW CT! It's currently a pop-up and I'm working to get funding for a full store. If you're interested in signal-boosting when our crowdfunding campaign launches, please sign up here for updates: https://www.indiegogo.com/...

Jiji, my little black kitten, loves to sit on my chest when I'm working. Which of course means very little work gets done when she sits there purring, because if I move my arms, she leaves.

Lately it seems like every time I've blocked out a long stretch of editing time, it gets eaten away by immediate task after immediate task until another week, and then another MONTH, has gone by and I've barely made a few pages of progress on an edit. I'd like my deep work back. The flow state.

It's been a while since I've been on here. How are you all doing? Has anyone found an easy way to cross-post to here from other platforms, such as Instagram? I'd love to be able to coordinate more easily.

1. Bankers lobby for deregulation.

2. Politicians deregulate bank.

3. Bank collapses due to lack of regulation.

Wall Street Journal: This is clearly the fault of non-white males.

WSJ screaming the quiet part loud & going full blown white supremacy. Absurd.

New acquisition alert! I'm so excited to work with Guadalupe on these books. Summer of the Mariposas is such a classic at this point, and this extends that world from the point of view of each of the other cinco hermanitas!

Today's my 13th anniversary of working at Lee & Low and running the Tu Books imprint! How we've grown since 2010. I'm really grateful for what we've been able to accomplish, and looking forward to all the new books we've got on the horizon.

Does anyone know if you can export your Goodreads book lists? Not your library (like read/currently reading) but the custom lists you make?

Okay, now that I know I won't lose my post, I can try to remember what I was going to say! If you don't know me, I'm the publisher of Tu Books, the middle grade and YA imprint of Lee & Low Books. I have 4 cats (Jiji, Tabitha, Juju, and Pyewacket) & a Victorian house I'm trying to restore.
