My queer anger is like the Centralia mine fire, smoldering since the ‘60s.

Props to the Happy Endings closed caption editor who has a fine attention to proper brand name capitalization.

A close friend of mine who had long covid since July died by suicide this morning. Our country is failing at mental health AND long-term COVID care. I am angry at the state of things.

Now on that hellsite for every viral tweet the first responses you see are bluecheck tryhards — this is the thing that is finally getting me to close the damn app after two minutes. It’s become un-sticky.

Yesterday at Salem Horror Fesr, I saw an A+ Satanic Panic film (Satan Wants You) & A+ Canadian indie “Wolves”. Today, lots of horror shorts & Czech restorations and “Bury the Bride”. I need to schedule 20 minutes where I can nap in my car.

Someone at work misspelled “whimsical” as “whimsicle” and I really think there should be a fun dessert called that. I’d eat it.

A former grad school colleague is connecting me with a sociology student who wants to talk with me about the reclamation of "queer"; I truly feel like an elder queer now, ha ha. :)

I was not quite 8 when Ford pardoned Nixon and even at that age I thought that was a bad move. I was right.

Český Rozhlas has a show called what I thought was Hoby Magazín - about wild mushroom foraging (which is a big thing in the Czech Republic). I finally caught it and was utterly confused until I realized that it is Hobby Magazín, about hobbies, which they pronounce with [o].

Many of my connections aren’t posting much yet so I’m going to try to post daily so they at least have some content to look at when they stop by. Soon this place will be a little more sticky!

It's not actually about religion, but about maintaining a large pool of cheap, uneducated labor, so pointing out their hypocrisy has no effect on them. They know what they're doing.

(This applies a wide array of GOP policies, not just whatever one you're thinking of now.)

The weird thing about being 56 is how often you remember things that happened half a century ago.

And the fact that 56-year-olds having this revelation 50 years ago were thinking about the 1920s.

I attended Michigan State, I have a nephew currently there, and I have a good friend who teaches in Berkey Hall (and fortunately she wasn’t there last night). I am thankful for this site which is free of gun nut extremists because on the hellsite it is just too much right now. #MichiganState

I listen to Czech radio several times weekly, and my comprehension ranges from grasping the merest gist of the conversation to a fair understanding. I just listened to a program about the history of dumplings and I absorbed well over half of it.

It was just two months ago that I first heard about Marble Hornets (how it existed for 12 years and I just found out is beyond me), and then in the past week I've consumed all of Kane Pixel's The Backrooms. These youtube found footage series are amazing (esp since Kane is only like 17).
