I'll even go as far as saying that this was the best move for Tucker's career.
He's no longer bound by an outlet's policies. Fox needs him more than he needs them.
They'll stay the course and Tucker will grow his brand.

Robert Reich @rbreichTucker Carlson might be out at Fox News, but if you're counting on the network to suddenly start telling the truth, don't hold your breath.02:51 PM - Apr 24, 2023
As long as there’s money to be made by selling lies, weaponizing Trump's viciousness, and peddling conspiracies, Fox News will continue to do it.

"Carlson’s exit is related to the discrimination lawsuit filed by Abby Grossberg, the producer fired by the network last month, the people said." 😬

Timing makes it seem as though Fox dumped Tucker Carlson.
The (obvious) questions now are where does he end up and who replaces him?
He's been with every large 24/7 news outlet but doubling down on extreme views limits his options.
As for his replacement, I'm putting my money on Tulsi Gabbard.

"Life is better when the Padres win!"
And, I must give credit to #Padres #baseball superfan (still on Twitter) at RyanCohen24 -- His tweets kept me going to the bird site. He also fundraises for a camp for kids with parents who have cancer. https://donate.kesem.org/fundraiser/4297920

Leadership thought the blue checkmark was worth $1,000 per month for celebrities/notable figures. What's worse is the price they're charging for enterprise API usage.

Miriam @Miriam"Existing Twitter Blue subscriptions will bring in around $27.8 million per year.06:26 PM - Apr 23, 2023
This means that, to cover the $1 billion per year in interest payments, Twitter would need 10.4 million subscribers to Twitter Blue.
It is currently 10.1 million short of that figure."

Had Twitter stayed public this would have raised a lot of red flags and potential legal issues. Just dirty and a sad overreach to inflate numbers.
Hoon Lee @hoonleeEliminating the status associated with validation is one thing. But if #Twitter is assigning check marks to deceased account-holders merely to promote the pay tier...what a display of poor taste, and desperation.

Two of, what I think, would be the biggest drivers and difference makers for a growing platform.
Creation and availability of dialogue.

I recently began taking acting classes and there's something so refreshing about letting your guard down. It brings another sense of self, an awareness.
Definitely recommend doing it regardless of wanting to act or not.

It seems like the removal of legacy verification (and reinstatement?) has proven to be a backbreaker for Twitter.
Loss of engagement drivers will be extremely useful for alternatives like Spoutible.
Oh. And we don't have to pay for an edit button 😝

$500 is well under the price of what a corporate logo is worth.
I think you should hire the person that wins. Give them the opportunity to take part in creating the brand and culture.

I have a few thoughts but I will only go about it by asking a single question.
Why on earth would anyone want to pay to use a social media website?
Why on earth would anyone want to pay to use a social media website?
Christopher Bouzy @cbouzyHere are the survey results:10:56 AM - Mar 27, 2023
1. Users don't want to change the ratings.
2. Most users don't want sexually explicit content.
3. Users want an app and more news on the website.
4. Half of the users love the platform, but there is room for improvement.
5. 20% would pay for more features.

Robert Reich @rbreichWe're in the Second Gilded Age just like the first — when America's wealth was in the hands of a few, conspicuous consumption existed alongside homelessness and hunger, monopolies destroyed competition, big money corrupted politics, unions were busted, and wages were suppressed.06:25 PM - Mar 09, 2023

When I taught radio production I always made sure to share this chart with my students in the case they wanted to take to the internet to obtain information. Media literacy is paramount in staying informed. #media #Spoutible #news

One thing I'm finding on here that was extremely prevalent (and still is) in early Twitter is follow-for-follow, sometimes followed up by being unfollowed.
I've used these approaches before and can have some value if content is interesting.
Anyways, just an observation here on Spoutible.
