Tell me again how Supreme Court justices are given lifetime appointments to help insure they will perform their solemn duties with impartiality and a commitment to justice for all above all else.

I posted this a while back: My simple idea for a reformed Supreme Court, the numbers are arbitrary:
1-Selcet 4 Dems, 4 Cons and 1 Indi to the court for a total of 9 Justices. The Indi would be an impartial presiding Chief Justice who wouldn't vote on subjects but would input opinions and break ties.

2-Set term limits to 16 years with max age ceiling of 80 years.
3-Create a bipartisan review board to review individual members every 3 years for performance and adherence to the Code of Ethics.
3-Create a bipartisan Code of Ethics and have it voted on by both the Senate and House.

Yeah, that lifetime appointment crap needs to go, I don’t care who they are. Nor do I have a suggestion for a replacement system, but this one blows. It’s demonstrably too easy to crash into a wall at full speed, and piling more human bodies onto this dumpster fire in hopes of achieving a more fair

Lemme know when you get an answer.

If you know someone is of questionable character, and put them in a position where they KNOW they can act with impunity, what exactly is the incentive for them to do the right thing.
Alito, Come, Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Roberts SHOWED us who they were

We don't pay them enough to expect them to be unapproachable to malfeasance

I don't disagree that SCOTUS justices (and federal judges generally) are underpaid. But do you think that paying them more would rid them of their current corruption? Serious question.

Instead of a Hippocratic oath (do no harm), they take the Hypocritic oath.
