there is no algorithm so echoes/QSs are the driver. likes only reach the OP. echoes reach your followers on the timeline. QSs go to both the timeline and explore feed, where everyone can see it.

wait till a food war, you'll see how quote spouts are used as a conversation driver at spoutible.

Seems if you want to spread/boost a message on here best thing to do is hit the echo button rather than like or reply. Echoes show on the feed, likes and replies not so much.

i'm with you. i think aaron put it all pretty well. i saw someone, can't remember who now, who asked if it could be time limited, which makes more sense than just showing an echo only once. it'll be interesting to see if the change sticks. i'm sure the community will have feedback once implemented.

Goose mentioned that perhaps each new echo will still appear but the prior re-echoes would then disappear – if that's the case, it seems like a good solution to keep the conversation alive without the timeline clutter that bothers some folks.
