Where I grew up, the Trail of Tears was one of those infamous stories, made you feel so bad that I'm now amazed they even taught it. Respect for those cyclists.

That would be the ride of a lifetime, but simultaneously, incredibly sad giving the history of the route. Congratulations to the Cherokee Nation cyclists for completing an unimaginable ride❤

You can't tell by my skin tone but I'm Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Cherokee.

My 4xggp were forced to walk the trail of tears from Mississippi to Oklahoma.

My 3x great grandpa was born during that forced walk.

They're lucky to have survived.

The Trail of Tears was so tragic. Literally thousands died along that trail! Your ancestors were lucky to have lived through it! My Cherokee ancestors fled the Carolinas when it became obvious they were going to be forcibly removed.
