Bluesky has an Android and iOS app, 13+ million in investments, and Threads just ate their lunch. Spoutible having an iOS app isn't magically going to catapult us to the top. Everything that is happening would've happened with or without an iOS app.

In the battle to replace Twitter, Spoutible really took the early lead, however, the lack of an IOS application has hurt them. People like ease even without bells and whistles. Yes Thread seems have some stuff missing… but it has an IOS app.

IMO
Easeeeee of Use…. FIRST
Community to Use it in…. NEXT

Left Twitter (sorta) because it was Toxic
Left others because they were a struggle and Had Crap Community
Finding the Effort here without iOS App to be Frustrating at times
(Copy, paste, back thread out, No Share link on major media, etc)

Anyone else remember the early days on the bird site? It took *years* to develop a personality, even longer to connect with others - that made me happy for a long time.
Spoutible isn't even at the point where we put its mittens on and send it to kindergarten... but the 🐳 is doing *really* well.

There are some people (people=me) that almost exclusively use these platforms on PCs whereas having a phone app is a "nice to have".

It's why I can't get into Threads.

Does that mean we aren’t getting an iOS app?

My problem with Threads is that it's only an app without a web interface. Post from your phone or go home.

Oh, hell no. Yes, I created my account there, but I can't post much until they expand.

Spoutible was workable from the first day. Beat that.

I have IOS and it’s not been a problem. It will be simpler with app but that’s not a roadblock.

Bluesky also sucks. Spoutible has the best features of the alternatives and frankly superior to the original. However, my view on why I continued to go to Twitter and am now checking out Threads is the IOS app. I know it is coming.

Android has a far larger market share than iOS. That seems kind of key in this discussion.

I think people seem to forget that more people use an Android based phone.

I am waiting patiently for the IOS app, until then Chrome on my IPad is just fine. Post has an IOS app, but only for phone, so I still used Mobil browser for there too. I love both places for different reasons, but primarily because they don’t belong to Zuckerberg Musk.

Disagree. Threads is seeing crazy adoption numbers in part because it's accessible on both major mobile platforms. I get you went Android first because of personal preference, but lagging on iOS is a major issue for all but us early adopters.

Is it because you actually don’t have an iOS app yet, or are still working on it, or is it simply in the revue queue at apples App Store?

I’ll stick to Spoutible! I love the way people interact here! Won’t sacrifice my privacy even further by installing Threads. I’ve been using Instagram before it was bought by Meta so it’s hard to give it up.

App means nothing much to me. Ability to repost with the pic showing would make a big difference. My 2 cents.
