Which is why, among the many gun control laws we need, laws for safe storage of guns and ammunition are among the least controversial and should be the next ones passed. Ask your lawmakers about it.

As I read this, a child would have to be seriously injured before the responsible adult could be charged. There’s nothing preventive about it. And it’s too broad. States must require gun owners to take a safety course and the law must spell out how firearms and ammunition must be safely stored.
