More like regulations over how to use data and to protect the users' privacy, which applies to all companies, including Internet ones. Data is illegal to share without the client's explicit permission. And when signing for anything, companies are forced by law to inform how they will use your data a

Yes, the General Data Protection Regulation. Plus there are others in the pipeline to help the law keep pace with the times. But the main thing isn't that there is a law, but that it's backed up by astronomical fines so even tech giants take it seriously.
