By far the best response to this monstrosity I've seen on the interwebs is, "We're going to need a bigger orca."

I'll never understand this. I spent literal years at sea and I wanted to sit at the rails and watch the sea in every spare moment I had, not turn my back on it or spend time indoors watching plays attending fancy dinners.

Same. I -hate- crowds. And Tahoe is half in Nevada so casinos everywhere. This is my nightmare. Trapped in a crowded casino with no escape. I could never.

But I was referring to the fact that to me, the sea is the attraction. I want to be at sea to because I love being at sea. Not going to plays and fancy dinners, that's land lubbing activities. 😀

I wish I loved the sea! I spend my first 10 years swimming off the coast of LA. I think I'm traumatized by the way I learned to swim. My dad wanted me to learn riptide safety so he would swim out as far as he could go, and leave me. I had to swim back myself. Sink or swim. The ocean makes me lonely.

I love the ocean, too. My dad learned to swim similarly. His dad threw him off a bridge and yelled "swim or die, son."

I guess I don't mind being lonely. I'm kind of a solitary person. I mean, I'm married and have 3 grown kids, but I've always been totally comfortable being alone.

That's funny! I'm glad I'm not the only one! 😅 Yeah I also -love- being alone. Traveling alone, working alone. All of it. But something about the ocean makes "alone" feel "lonely." Who knows why. But I love that you sailed! What fun adventures that time must have been.

There were lots of fun adventures. So many sea stories that most people would never believe, unless they served in the Navy also. Lots of hard times and long days, too.
