I've been waiting for over a year for the hollyhocks in my garden to bloom.... And they are SO worth it.
I've got like 7 varieties and I have 3 more that haven't bloomed quite yet.
It's like a surprise pack but with living things!!!

Be sure to deadhead them as soon as they finish blooming and destroy all of the seed pods. They spread really fast into places you don't want them.

... and by dead head you mean cut them off? Or just the whole long top bit?
I'm super new to not killing every plant I touch lol

Yes, wherever there was a flower, cut off the stem of that flower and the seed pod. Try to do it as soon as possible after the flower begins to die off, because the seed pods mature quickly and break open as they dry out. Every one of those flowers can produce 50-100 seeds.
