If your name is Matt Damon or Scarlett Johansson, you're fine. But for every A-lister in a major film, there are tens of thousands of working actors who don't work full time.

They work non-acting, non-film related jobs to make ends meet between gigs.

In American Born Chinese, Ke Huy Quan plays a former sitcom star. In one scene we see him repairing a refrigerator. That's the life of a working actor.

Oh BTW, LA, a major film industry city, is a very expensive place to live. You may wanna act, but also must make ends meet.

That is who the SAG-AFTRA represents. They will be hurt the most if the union were to cave and ratify an agreement that includes everything the AMPTP is refusing to budge on.

Yeah, movies and TV shows are gonna get delayed, but they gotta protect their livelihoods.

This is an industry worth more than 130 billion dollars. There's no excuse for the AMPTP not giving the actors, writers, directors, and the set workers everything they want in their initial asks. They can afford it all and they know it.
