I took a general philosophy course as an elective in my undergrad. This is a perfect description of the class👇👇👇

Nice class you had! I kind of stank in philosophy because all the philosophers seem to be "right" and professors seem to have favorites.
I'm not saying no to Hegel, but can't I still like Schopenhauer??

It was taught by a Polish man who survived the nazi occupation as a child. In one discussion of moral obligations he talked about walking out of the house every morning to see which neighbours were hanging dead from the trees. He was a fascinating guy, and the class discussions were excellent!

I had a few teachers. Once we passed Kant I'm not sure we encountered moral obligations as an imperative.
It must have been hard to survive such misery.
