Conversely, FL (or TX, or any state) could become CA today if we don't give up on them as many suggest, thinking it's fine to abandon millions harmed by state sanctioned bigotry. CA flipped to D in reaction to right wing policies; other states can too, & we should never stop pushing for that.

CA was the FL of the 1990s. Not only could it happen, it did happen, and could happen again

Back in the early 60s the south was still segregated. Lynchings were a thing! Societal injustice was rampant and peaceful protests weren’t working. I lived it. The country needed something huge, a ‘moon shot’ so to speak! That program’s distribution of jobs and people throughout the South was huge!

Houston, New Orleans, Slidell, Pearl MS, Huntsville AL, and of course, Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral FL brought people from other parts of the country into the Deep South. It was predominantly Democrats’ territory back then because, well Reconstruction! No one dared say Republican!

I think Abbot stole the elections. There’s no way Beto lost.

Blue Texan here 🖐🏼 We're trying, but all of our largest cities are gerrymandered to hell. Not to mention our corrupt as hell AG who admitted to throwing out hundreds of thousands of potential votes for Beto.
