I’m worried about the ebike *batteries* that explode and cause fires—especially in a dry place like California.
What’s the best way to avoid that?
It’s probably the main reason I haven’t bought an e- bIke.
Thanks 🙏

Are you planning on riding your ebike in the woods?

Yes On roads as well in the country /rural/forested places.

Why?

Ebikes are not designed for off roading. Pavement and concrete don't burn, so stick to roads

Oh that’s not at all true..There are MANY off-road ebikes - they are particularly good because they are clean and *silent* in the woods, increasing enjoyment of nature.

But that is all besides the point. The batteries can explode, especially while stored, and cause HOUSE FIRES🔥

Pedal powered bikes are also clean & quiet
No idea they had off road ebikes, that's insane to me as crashing bikes off-road happens all the time and I can't believe that all the electronic parts are that durable to handle it

Riane, there are many reasons to want an ebike that works well off-road. (FYI they don’t look like city bikes).

My question is about what to do to minimize the battery explosion issue - that applies whether one has a City ebike or a Country ebike.
