It's possible that he's doing everything he can to sink Twitter, because he thinks that will help Republicans win elections.

He’s cutting off text-based two-factor authentication. You still have access to an authenticating app or use of a security key.

The sms/text 2fa is being paywalled (which is stupid). Apps from google/microsoft/authy etc will still work for 2fa and those apps are more secure than text/sms 2fa generally
