'Ms [Ilana] Rooderkerk recently compared cruise tourists to a type of "plague of locusts" descending all at once on the city.'
"A 2021 study of one big cruise ship found that it had produced the same levels of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in one day as 30,000 trucks."

Thanks for sharing. A lot of big European cities like Barcelona are also taking on tourism like this. They built a big infrastructure at the ports to encourage cruise ships to come but it ultimately worked against them.

Thanks for your comment. It's especially bad in the Mediterranean countries. Large ships were barred from entering Venice in 2021, but the ban is yet to be enforced. The day-trippers do quite a lot of damage.
