I'm not in Texas, but I had to fill out paperwork this morning and was given a choice of "Native, Asian, Black, Unknown or White". No other. No Mixed. I put down Unknown. 🙁 🤦🏻‍♀️ Hispanics Misidentified as 'White' on Texas Birth Certificates.

You can be Hispanic and identify as any (fake social construct) race. I have a family member in Texas who is the daughter of 2 Mexican immigrants and she identifies as white and she identifies her children as white.

Sure, but I found it strange that the options were so limited. Not everyone fits in their constructed racial categories. Most times when I've filled out forms the choices weren't so limited.

I agree, but I think the change is to recognize Hispanic or Latine as an ethnicity rather than a race.
It would be better to do away with race identification and just collect data on ethnicity. We're a nation of immigrants with varied ethnicities and cultures.
