We shouldn’t be teaching from lies.

Rather we should less fixated on being unfallible and more curious about what causes us unease.

Truth is elusive, I'm afraid. It is difficult, if not impossible, to escape oversimplying in all but the most abstract spaces.

That’s why I didn’t mention truth. Teaching lies is what Florida has codified.

I hear you.

My secondary education buried so much of America's dark history. It kept me ignorant. Only in college did I start to learn about civil rights, worker rights, and the rights of the disabled.

Rochester Institute of Technology blended the humanities and tech well.

I always wonder where in my high school years they buried Tulsa. And all the others. It’s why I’m appalled at the teaching of history & why to understand who we are, read fiction. It’s filled with hopes, dreams, regret, loss, and our petty nature flows freely because we don’t know it’s there.

I only learned of the Tulsa race massacre this decade.

It was buried deep and that's just wrong.

This nation has a long ugly history of sabotage and hostage taking. We need to right the ship already. We'll be stronger for it.
