We don't allow adult content and that policy will not change. Creating an account here to complain about a policy that was available before you created your account isn't cool.

I agree…there is another app available for that type of use and service. It’s like going to the library and complaining that they do not carry x-rated material. Everything doesn’t have to be for everyone.

Except Spoutible is touting itself as an alternative to Twitter, where many sex workers have gained a following. #SexWorkIsWork

Alternative doesn’t mean the same platform. As a new platform he doesn’t have to pay for the moderation that is required for such content. He is isn’t stopping discussions of sex work or the sex positive movement. The entitlement is a trip. 🤔

Obviously they get to decide what goes on their platform, but one can state policy reasons on not allowing explicit content while also expressing that they understand why there's a lot of vulnerability in that community.
I'm sniffing a bit of distaste for it, but I hope that's my radar being wrong

I would agree with that. Plus, I'm still not able to navigate to the policies link provided in the terms of service.

I spouted about it a little over a week ago, was told to "be patient". How would we have known the policies?

"Alternative" being the operative word.

Not "clone."

The whole run up of Spoutible before its launch was how Twitter was going down the drain, and we needed a safer place. The initial design posts were how it would be a clone of Twitter and unique things added later because it'd be familiar for people. Sex work wasn't the problem with Twitter.

I wouldn’t have a problem with sex workers linking to their OF as long as no sexually explicit material was posted on here. I was shocked to find that pornographic material is readily available on Twitter for anyone of any age to see.

This sounds pretty reasonable. They can still get a following & generate traffic to their OF without necessarily having explicit material on the site itself.
