This former slave was making cars long before Henry Ford. C.R. Patterson & Sons, the first Black owned automobile manufacturer, founded by Frederick Douglas Patterson, & named after his father Charles "Rich" Richard Patterson. They were active from 1893-1939 in Greenfield, OH. #BlackHistoryMonth
