Teachers in Florida are removing all books from their classrooms so they can be vetted. The law is broad and vague; basically all books with any reference to LGBTQ people or racism will be removed. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/florida-jacksonville-classroom-bookshelves-ron-desantis-house-bill-1467

Students can not trust teachers, which is essential for learning, if the public does not support/trust them.

I see what you're saying - the public needs to support teachers! You're right about that. They don't want to remove books from their classrooms, but they can be fired if they refuse and charged with a felony. And yes, this is a bad environment for learning.

Base your opinion of them, in part, by what they’re afraid of.

But the books have to be checked by a specialist and it could take years for one person to read every book in a school. Teachers could be charged with a felony if they don't comply. (The charges of "pornography" are spurious and absurd).

Many other states are have similar bills.

I’m married to a teacher; their world is filled with an ever-expanding miasma of regulations. And malicious compliance is a thing.
