Hit me with your linguistic pet peeves. Mine is when people use the unnecessarily passive phrase "is indicative of" rather than simply "indicates." Nails on the chalkboard!

The both. I hear it all the time not only in real life, but on sooooo many different TV shows. I verbally correct the TV personalities out loud. But, they don't seem to pay me any attention. They continue to do it over and over.
