It's tragic that the vast majority of American reporters spent years calling trump's lies 'untruths,' 'falsehoods,' and all that sort of sugarcoated nonsense.

In today's indictment, #JackSmith uses only one word to describe trump's lies: "Lies."

Journalism failed badly during the trump years.

Hear, hear! If the respectable legacy media editorialists and opinion writers had called the lies lies and the liars liars from the start, maybe we wouldn't be here now.

Philip Bump's recent essay in the Post was a masterpiece: An habitual liar is now an established fabulist. How 'bout that?

It was almost as if Trump manipulated the press. "MSM was liberal bias." It was anyone besides Fox had to show both sides as equal. Even though one side was batshit crazy.
Climate change and the Pandemic are 2 things that come to mind.

Yes, they all ran in fear from him. It was—and remains—the most nauseating episode in the history of American stenography, I mean press.

I picked up on the word lies right away. Truth! Not false both-side-ism. Truth!

Also DC reporters act more like accountants than journos half the time, concerned with maintaining access by engaging in whataboutism. It's a real failure.
