Yeah, I got in early and rode the wave until 2009.

Started out as an BSEE Engineering trainee at NASA in 1968 designing micro computer hardware for the space race, and gradually transitioned to software.

Helping businesses benefit from HW/SW has always been my passion.

Nice! That's such a cool history!

I only started into hardware related stuff about 8-10 years ago. Haven't really stuck with it much. I'm not that good at it. But it did help land me a job writing PC software to configure smart devices for a big name in industrial devices.

Yeah, the early days were wild.

Imagine being on a plane in 1969 trying to explain what you do to the person in the next seat - who had never even heard of computers.

Klnda like, today, trying to explain how one controls a helicopter on Mars ... 😱

Oh yeah. That would have been wild!

Before people had heard of machine learning I was studying it a bit in college (early 1990s). I can imagine that was a kind of similar sort of conversation. But at least they knew WHAT a computer was.
