Had a flowering plant begin growing in a pot a coulple of months ago that we didnt plant. Its now two stalks, each nearly 3 feet tall with a single bloom on the end. The flower is very nice and we’d love to identify & plant more of these.

Anyone know what it is? We live in South Carolina, btw.

Michael, there’s a free app for your phone called Seek. It identifies this as an elegant Zinnia.

Seek is not free, but there is a free trial week. $9.99 a week after that.

Thanks!! I ordered a bunch of colors in Amazon. We have very high heat in summer here and the zinnias have stood up to it wonderfully. I enjoy them every morning as we have coffee on the front porch overlooking the lake. Great way to start the day!

Thanks for the idea! I moved just above you to Wilmington, NC and I struggle what to plant in this heat!
