Well, in full fairness, there was ONE president that could have established the precedent but his VP pardoned him after he resigned. (For the young folks I’m referring to Tricky Dick Nixon)

I see this as a pivotal and existential moment. The USA either establishes that no one is above the law and we can go down a path of the possibility to be better. Or we will let this slide and doom ourselves to be a failed country. The path to the good will be hard and resisted but is essential.
