The FDA recently approved a drug for mothers with postpartum depression. What it offers is a 61.9% benefit vs 54.1% (drug vs placebo). The side effects are pretty crazy and this rounding error is all it provides?? Trying to help these mothers is one thing but claiming this drug is effective… what?

I think there is an assumption that the FDA only approves drugs which are safe and !effective!, but in reality they are just approving that the drug's benefits outweigh its "known and potential risks". It's definitely a gray area that only encourages the antivax folks.
