There is a correlation in Hollywood misogyny with how thin and glammed up a woman needs to be versus how out of his league a schlubby guy is shown to get.

I learned this at 12 when Buddy Hackett landed Audrey Landers on The Love Boat. So not fair. I have called it the Hackett Effect ever since.
Janarchy @Janarchy
Blame that on the "heroin chic" trend in the late 90s, and shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer where size 10-12 Amber Benson (Tara) was considered FAT vs her women co-stars who were all scarily thin, while their male co-stars got visibly heavier.

So googled the reverse:

Example Ann Hathaway multiple movies. (til glasses off, brushes hair adds lipstick trope)

Tina Fey (dates John Hamm 30 Rock) she is adorable

Nia Vardolos gets John Cobyn Big Fat Greek Wedding - who’s very pretty - not Hollywood typical.

No women of color examples?

There was a moment on Will and Grace where Karen kept making Jack flip channels because every show was "Fat guy, skinny wife"

Omg… I can see it in my brain… no offense to Will and Grace. The show should have been Jack and Karen.
