So because a legal professional offered something I didn't ask for, I am obligated to accept it? You and a few others believe that you can dictate the policies that were voted on by many. As I stated earlier, there are other options if you don't agree with the policies. Have you tried Post?

IDK, it feels like some people who have an issue with the current policy are being willfully obtuse and making this seem like it'll be a bigger issue than it actually would be. I took the policy to mean I won't be seeing porn in my timeline, not that I can't discuss romance novels that I read.

Maybe it didn’t come up on my timeline but I never saw people discussing romance novels on the bird app. I did see porn and other nudity that I wasn’t expecting to see in the comments

When I would see people posting about romance novels on other socials it's not about explicit content a significant majority of the time. It's just kind of feels like people want to have a reason to feel oppressed.

I see a lot of romance twitter because I read a lot of romance novels. It isn't clear to what extent I am permitted to discuss the adult things that happen in those books on here.

How explicitly do you discuss them on Twitter?

I don't really know bc I don't really think about whether my tweets are explicit. Have I talked about specific parts of the body? Probably. Have I alluded to explicit things? Absolutely. How do I know in advance whether those things wld be considered prohibited "sexually suggestive" language?

I really think y'all are overthinking this. The policy is very clearly aimed at porn. This sort of preemptive outrage over a possible abuse of the policy, which hasn't happened yet, is too much. I also don't understand why policy that's been around the entire time suddenly becomes an issue today.

On top of that, instead of people asking for clarification on what would fall in that prohibited use of the platform, they go directly to a sort of "You need to write it my way so I feel comfortable". I just think it was handled poorly by the main people that I saw taking issue with it.

I really think before people get up in arms about it, they should give it a chance. Instead of going to other sites to bad mouth this website because they're not going to change their policy. The policy already has exceptions for artistic expression, which I believe romance novels would fall under.

Listen, I pre-registered, participated in most of the surveys, created my account on 2/1/2023, and I have donated to Bot Sentinel. I want this to work, but I was born a skeptic and I trust nothing. I, like many others, like guidelines to be clear to prevent arbitrary and capricious enforcement.

I also think it doesn't feel welcoming or safe when people who ask for more specificity are met with contempt. People ask for specificity so they have a reasonable understanding of what to expect.

You also have to look at how people were addressing the issue. By the time I saw it they didn't seem to be acting in good faith, they seem to want a fight more than anything.

Anyway, you seem cool so hopefully you stick around if you choose not to, I understand.
