To be fair, Ohio's not conservative. It's exactly like Arkansas, Nebraska, Louisiana, etc...It's heavily Gerrymandered to reward incompetent and mediocre GOP.

Ohio voters have rejected a proposed constitutional change that would have made it tougher to protect abortion rights. The result marks the latest setback for Republicans in a conservative-leaning state who favor imposing tough abortion restrictions. #AP

I doubt there's more than a handful of states that are actually red. If it was really one person one vote, our swing states would generally be blue, and our red states would be half swing or blue.

Republicans just stack the deck. Otherwise they'd have ceased to exist as a national party by now.

"Some [maps] are more truthful than others." The so-called dasymetric dot density map is one of them.

“The term “dasymetric” refers to a map that accounts for population density in a given area. Instead of filling an entire state or county with the color red or blue to indicate which party won, Field uses red and blue dots to represent every vote that was cast.”

“ On this particular map from 2016, there are roughly 135 million dots. Then, rather than distributing the dots evenly around a county, he distributes them proportionally according to where people actually live, based on the US government's National Land Cover Database.” Source:
