tRump appointed Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk is likely to ban the sale of medication abortiondrugs as soon as Feb 10. It'll be appealed to the 5th Circuit, which will uphold Kacsmaryk's ruling, then to SCOTUS.

How does the plaintiff even have standing to bring this lawsuit?

As far as anyone knows, they do not. They've stated they are basing the suit on some imaginary future harm. In any other court, it would be thrown out.
But not with Kacsmaryk, who is known for ignoring actual law. That's precisely why the plaintiffs picked his jurisdiction.

Can a judge overrule the FDA? Seriously?

Do they not realize that the drugs will still be produced and people have already stockpiled them?

Apparently a single judge can enjoin the sale of the drugs nationwide.
This is the same judge who recently enjoined the sale of birth control to teenagers in Texas.
Such an action is described as illegitimate use of the law- but that doesn't mean he won't do it.

Most of US read The Handmaid's Tale, found it alarming, provocative, terrifying fiction. The GOP found it useful - as a handbook.

You are 100% correct.

As an aficionado of dystopian literature, I read the Handmaid's Tale when it was first published, and I recall thinking it was the most terrifying book I had ever read.
I still maintain that opinion.

10 days till my partial hysterectomy. It's feeling more and more like the right decision. I'm a little concerned about the possibility of ectopic pregnancy, but IDK if that's even worth worrying about.

I had an ectopic pregnancy and almost died. Two years ago I had a complete hysterotomy. I'm 60 so I didn't really need anything anymore. I had fibroids. My surgeon told me I never have to see a gyno again and the threat of cancer was gone. BEST decision I ever made.

Isn't it infuriating that real medical issues are ignored, in the quest to force unwanted fecundity on any woman with a heartbeat.
I am so sorry-for you, and for all the other women denied methotrexate for RA, misoprostol for ulcers, etc etc etc.

This is sooo stupid. So many people are going to suffer needlessly. And so many doctors are going to feel like they are working with their hands tied.

This SUCKS

Their frustration with the failures of the bans they've already passed means they are targeting women en mass.
It seems amazing that one corrupt and lawless judge can halt healthcare for half of America, but the antis have chosen their venue carefully - and they may succeed.
