We’ve been conditioned to believe that the investor class and their access to profits/return on investment is more important than people being able to feed their children and have shelter. Unionize everything. That’s the only way to level the playing field.

Minimum wage, if pegged to inflation as was the original idea, would Linn d be over 26$/hr. In Colorado I believe minimum wage is 12.75$/hr. When studio apartments run over 1400$/month, affordable housing is basically non-existent. 26$/hr would be a challenge to live on here....

And for years my mom fought for a "living wage" through her work as a union rep 1199 SEIU.

🎯 Sadly, this is the issue with going along with status quo. Over time, falsehoods become truth. What’s worse is that the same folks who scoff at the notion of true living wages, also expect people to retire from low-wage jobs & only rely on Social Security as “supplementary”, not sole, income.

Yes.

And those folks "who expect people to retire from low-wage jobs & only rely on Social Security..."

Those same folks want to DO AWAY WITH SOCIAL SECURITY.
